Standard Seed Mixes
Coverage: 10 PLS lbs per acre.*
Available in 1 acre, 1/2 acre, 1/4 acre, 1/8 acre, 1/16 acre and 545 sq. feet increments.
Agrecol’s 15 standard
seed mixes are pre-designed mixes for a variety of Environmental
conditions ranging from emergent zones at the edges of ponds, lakes, or
basins to dry sandy upland situations. These mixes contain 25-35 species of grasses, sedges, and wildflowers.
They are designed for a planting rate of 60 PLS seeds per square foot.
Additionally, there is a ratio of approximately 50/50 grasses &
sedges to wildflowers.

Deluxe Seed Mixes
Coverage: 15 PLS lbs per acre.*
Available in 1 acre, 1/2 acre, 1/4 acre, 1/8 acre, 1/16 acre and 545 sq. feet increments.
Agrecol’s
15 deluxe seed mixes contain a very diverse mix of species. 45-60
total species of native grasses, sedges, and wildflowers for a variety
of Environmental conditions comprise this mix.
Not only is this
the most diverse of our mix categories, it also is designed to provide
90 PLS seeds per square foot, which is 50% higher than our standard
versions. For an added visual appeal, Agrecol has adjusted the ratio
of grasses & sedges to wildflowers to 40/60. |
High Density Seed Mixes
Coverage: 30 PLS lbs per acre.*
Available in 1 acre, 1/2 acre, 1/4 acre, 1/8 acre, 1/16 acre and 545 sq. feet increments.
Agrecol’s 15 high density seed mixes are designed for situations where
extra high seeding rates are desired. These could be situations where
the landowner is concerned about weed control preparation prior to
seeding or simply would just like to ensure competitive advantage
through numbers during the establishment phase. These mixes contain
10-15 species of grasses, sedges, and wildflowers. They are designed
for a planting rate of 120 PLS seeds per square foot . Additionally,
there is a ratio of approximately 70/30 grasses & sedges to
wildflowers. |

Wildflower Enhancement Mix
Coverage: 1 PLS lb per acre.*
Available in 1 PLS lb. increments.
Agrecol’s
wildflower enhancement mix consisists of only wildflower seeds. This
mix is designed to be used to overseed an existing prairie restoration
or seed an area with only wildflowers. These pre-packaged seed mixes
are available in 1-pound bags to provide enhancement for a one-acre
prairie area.

CRP Seed Mixes
Coverage: 5 PLS lbs per acre.*
Available in 1 acre, 1/2 acre and 1/4 acre increments.
Agrecol carries approximately 20-25 WI Conservation Reserve Program
seed mixes. These are the NRCS designed mixes that are most commonly
planted on Wisconsin CRP lands. Typically these mixes will have a
lower diversity of species and also are designed for a planting rate of
30 PLS seeds per square foot. Therefore they can fit a nice niche for
those clients that are more strictly interested in cover, erosion
control, and less concerned about species diversity. |

WI DOT Mixes
Coverage:15 PLS lbs per acre.*
Available in 1 PLS lb. increments.
Agrecol carries the four primary WI DOT specified seed mixes that contain native prairie grasses and wildflowers. These mixes are designed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to provide native prairie grasses and wildflowers for purposes of erosion control, aesthetic colors and textures, economic variety, and salt-tolerant roadside situations.

Energy Mix
Coverage: 10 PLS lbs per acre.*
Available in 1 acre, 1/2 acre and 1/4 acre increments.
Agrecol
has designed an energy seed mix for alternative bio-energy. The mix
contains 3 grass species including switch grass, 1 wildflower (sunflower), and 6 legumes which include Partridge Pea and Prairie Clover.
The harvested biomass
of this mix is very nutrient-rich and can be used to create fuel
pellets for energy, or it can be used in other energy processing systems.

Big Buck Mix

Available in 1 acre, 1/2 acre and 1/4 acre increments
Agrecol’s big buck seed mix is designed especially for wildlife habitat and deer enthusiasts. It is comprised of a very diverse mix of grasses and wildflowers that were chosen to provide diverse heights, structure, cover, and forage for a variety of wildlife including deer. The mix of wildflowers will provide color from spring to fall and the entire mix will provide structure and habitat through the winter months as well.

Custom Native Seed Mixes
Our
mixes are custom-made for site specific needs. All mixes can be ordered
with each component packaged separately, grouped for a seed drill, or
all mixed together. Typical modifications include changing the color
ratios, grass to wildflower ratio, and the number of seeds per square
foot.
