Dry Prairie Mixed

This mix should be planted in areas that receive direct sunlight for at least half the day. Many of these plants prefer sandy or rocky soils. At a minimum this species mix requires well drained soils. Unless irrigated, lawn grasses, most ornamental plants, and crops would be dormant for much of the growing season in soils suitable for dry prairies. Agrecol’s Dry Mixed Height Prairie includes a wide selection of grasses and wildflowers typically found in this sort of habitat. Shorter grasses are represented more heavily than tall grasses to ensure there presence, however the larger stature prairie grasses and wildflowers are represented.
