Mesic Mixed
(STANDARD MIX) SM-MM
Soils that will support normal lawns or row crops would be appropriate for mesic prairies. Most common soil types in our area are mesic. As with all the prairie mixes several hours of direct sunlight is required. Both tall and short stature grasses form the base of Agrecol’s Mesic Mixed Height Prairie. The short stature grasses are seeded at a higher rate initially to minimize the chances the tall grasses will eliminate them. This mix includes many wild flowers which are not dependent on either very wet or very dry conditions.
